Rules, Routines, and Read-Alouds for the First Weeks of School and Beyond: PreK-3
Hildegarde Hammond
Looking for ideas on how to work with the youngest elementary students in the library? Attend this workshop to share best practices – rules, routines and read-alouds -- with an experienced early childhood librarian. Hildegarde Hammond is a reading teacher assigned to the library at P.S. 333, a PreK-3 school in the South Bronx, where she has worked for the past 10 years. She teaches a children’s art class on Saturdays in East Harlem and tries to squeeze as much art as possible into her library program. She would love to know the secret of a quiet library. Below are some of the handouts from the session. Some session handouts are in print form only and viewers interested in those documents or viewers with other questions for Hildegarde Hammond may contact her athhammon3@schools.nyc.gov
